David Palmer
宗树人（DAVID A. PALMER），法国国立高等实证研究院（EPHE）宗教人类学博士、香港大学社会学系副教授兼系主任、香港人文社会研究所研究员、（香港）全球文明研究中心主任。 曾任伦敦政治经济学院宗教与当代社会研究员、法国远东学院研究员及香港中心主任。他的著作《气功热：毛后中国的人体科学乌托邦》（Qigong Fever: Body, Science and Utopia in China）曾获美国人类学学会东亚人类学 许烺光最佳书奖、与高万桑合著的《现代中国的宗教问题》（The Religious Question in Modern China）曾获美国亚洲研究会最佳中国研究列文森书奖及美国出版社协会最佳宗教研究书奖。 合编的书包括《中国人的宗教生活》（Chinese Religious Life）和《永恒与现代之间：二十世纪道教》（Daoism in the 20th Century: Between Eternity and Modernity），中文版即将出版。目前他的研究范围包括现代中国社会中的信仰转变、道教的全球化、粤北地区的民间信仰与仪式传统、华人地区的巴哈伊信仰研究、信仰背景的民办社会团体、当代中国志愿者文化的形成。
David A. Palmer is an Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Sociology at the University of Hong Kong. Born in Toronto (Canada), he received his BA in Anthropology and East Asian Studies from McGill University in Montreal and his M. Phil (DEA) in Clinical Psychology/Ethnopsychiatry from the University of Paris. He obtained his Ph.D. at the Ecole Pratique des Hautes Etudes (Sorbonne, Paris), specializing in the historical anthropology and sociology of Chinese religion, in 2002. He lived in Chengdu (China) for six years during the 1990s, where he was a visiting scholar at the Institute for Religious Studies of Sichuan University in 1999-2000. Prior to joining the University of Hong Kong in 2008, he held appointments as the Eileen Barker Fellow in Religion and Contemporary Society at the London School of Economics and Political Science, and as the director of the Hong Kong center of the Ecole Française d'Extrême-Orient (French School of Asian Studies), located at the Institute of Chinese Studies of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, from 2004 to 2008. Palmer has given guest lectures in numerous universities around the world including, among others, Oxford University, Harvard University, the University of Chicago, the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales, the Max Planck Institute (Germany), Peking University, Tsinghua University, the China Academy of Social Sciences, the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences, and the Academia Sinica. He is author, co-author or co-editor of numerous books, journal issues and articles, and is co-editor of the book series Religion in Chinese Societies published by Brill Academic Publishers.

Mr. Nelson Chamveka was born in Malawi, Africa. He holds a Bachelors’ Degree in Education and has an MBA in Higher Education leadership and management. He is currently working as a university registrar of the University of Lilongwe, Malawi. He is also lecturer in intercultural communication in the school education at the University of Lilongwe.
His main interests are in interfaith dialogue, higher education for sustainable development, and higher education quality assurance. He is currently pursuing a PhD. in higher education management and leadership.
